Show: Ashura (2005)
Review by: Craig Burns
I rented this movie expecting a cool martial arts film. I also saw that Yoko Kanno (from Cowboy Bebop, et al) did the music for it so that was another plus in my decision to rent it. As it turned out, the plot was weak as it's a story that's been done over and over. The special effects were not all that great either but I wasn't expecting too much in that area. There was little fighting, too many plot holes and a very disappointing ending. I was impressed with the music though, Yoko Kanno can deliver! The soundtrack saved this from a one star rating.
