Show: Kite Liberator (2008)
Review by: Craig Burns
I enjoyed Kite somewhat and wanted to see this sequel. I had some fairly high expectations and, at least I wasn't let down in the art department. I thought the artwork was nice and that is the main reason I gave this three stars - otherwise it would rate just one. That said, the rest of the show was pretty lame. There was a bunch of buildup toward - nothing. At the end of the movie, you are left with a big "and then..." question mark. Since the DVD sleeve says that the run time is 1 hour and 58 minutes, I thought I was missing something after it ended at just less than an hour. I searched the DVD for another episode that would finish the story, but in vain. We are treated to a potentially good show but, with so many dangling plot threads, it appears as though the production company just got tired and decided to axe it. I can only hope that this is the beginning of an OVA series and not the stand-alone movie it appears to be...
