This book is dedicated to my parents,
Jim and Janet K. Stackpole.
Without your support, help and
encouragement, this and all my
other novels would just be something
I'd like to do someday.
None of us liked waiting in ambush, primarily because we couldn't be wholly certai we weren't the ones being set up for a hot-vape.
May contain spoilers
"And that is the toughest bit of all, my love," I laughed, "we have to tell your father our first child will not be named for him."

New York Times bestselling author Michael A. Stackpole presents a stirring new tale set in the Star Wars® universe: the dramatic story of a heroic X-wing pilot on the razor's edge between the Force - and the Dark Side.

I, JEDI

Corran Horn has distinguished himself as one of the best and brightest of Rogue Squadron's elite fighting force.  Then his wife, Mirax, vanishes on a covert mission for the New Republic, and Corran vows to find her.  To do so, he knows he must develop the latent Force powers inherited from his grandafther, a legendary Jedi hero.  He joins Luke Skywalker's famed Jedi academy to begin training, only to quit in frustration at Skywalker's methods.  Now Corran is on his own.  Using his Corellian undercover experience, he must infiltrate, sabotage, and destroy a ruthless organization in order to find his wife.  But to succeed, Corran will have to come to terms with his Jedi heritage - and make a terrible choice: surrender to the dark side... or die.

  • I try to maintain page numbers for audiobooks even though obviously there aren't any. I do this to keep track of pages read and I try to use the Kindle version page numbers for this.
  • Synopses marked with an asterisk (*) were generated by an AI. There aren't a lot since this is an iffy way to do it - AI seems to make stuff up.
  • When specific publication dates are unknown (ie prefixed with a "Cir"), I try to get the publication date that is closest to the specific printing that I can.
  • When listing chapters, I only list chapters relevant to the story. I will usually leave off Author Notes, Indices, Acknowledgements, etc unless they are relevant to the story or the book is non-fiction.
  • Page numbers on this site are for the end of the main story. I normally do not include appendices, extra material, and other miscellaneous stuff at the end of the book in the page count.

See my librarything icon librarything page. I use this site to catalogue books and it has more details on books than goodreads does.
