When three spaceships mysteriously appear from a planet that the moon is passing by, Moonbase Alpha destroys them.  This causes a war in which the moonbase is severly damaged and many people killed.  Koenig and Helena go to the planet to try to find a peaceful solution to the problem, only to find the people there highly evolved and able to show others what they fear most.  When Koenig reverts back to the point in time that the three ship originally appeared, he aborts the firing and avoids a war.
