Riley shows up in Sunnydale hunting demons.  When he enlists Buffy's aid, she learns that he has married.  While helping them look for a mysterious enemy called "The Doctor", Buffy stops by Spikes.  Riley shows up and catches them in bed and also informs Buffy that Spike is the Doctor.  They have to fight the hatching demon eggs in Spikes lair.
