   Sandra Day O’Connor Nominated for Supreme Court
President Ronald Reagan nominated Sandra Day O’Connor to be the first woman Supreme Court justice.  She was an Arizona court of appeals judge.  The Senate unanimously approved her appointment on September 21st and on September 25th she was sworn in.
