Silverlock started with a shipwreck.  These new adventures begin with a barroom brawl and a surprise visit from Venus, goddess of love and other natural disasters.  "Hi, Sugar," she says, "got a match?"

From that moment on George is a man with a mission - a pilgrim in pursuit of happiness on a road traveled by folks a scientist rarely meets: the happy-go-lucky ne'er-do-wells of the arts.
