A series of definitives issued beginning in 1938 depicting all of the presidents of the UInited States through Calvin Coolidge. Three stamps also included non-presidentail subjects. Each of these included a ½ cent.
This series is the first time that stamps were issued that had denominations other than the normal postal rates of the time.

It was originally set up to fight against the polio epidemic. The name "March of Dimes" was created by Eddie Cantor in his radio campaign and was a play on words of "The March of Time" which was a popular newsreel at the time.
